I have the wrong facebook account linked to my spotify account

Hi,

I have no idea how but when I log into Spotify I now have my friend's Facebook account connected to it instead of mine.

I need to have it disconnected - I have followed numerous instructions (i.e. disconnected from Facebook under 'preferences') but it still continues to show her name on the top right hand corner when I log in and is connected to her account.

Can someone please help me disconnect her account from my Spotify?

My daugthers Facebook account is somehow linked to my spotify account. When I disconnect Facebook under "Social Network", it instantly pops back to my daugthers Facebook account. Please help.

Hi someone has hijacked my Spotifyaccount and is logging in on my account using facebook.

I've tried to use my boyfriends facebook account to get rid of her but she still pops up in the upper right corner.

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂 

Can you try going to Edit > Preferences > Disconnect from Facebook and then do a clean reinstallation of the client and see if that helps?

I have the same problem! I have 2 accounts (one with my facebook and the other with a different email account) and theyre both linked to the same facebook. Can you please disconnect me? Or delete my email account? --which ever is easier.. Thanks!

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂 

You should be able to do this yourself. In the desktop client, log in with your username "lrd.brantingham" and Spotify password, then go to Edit/Spotify > Preferences > Social Network > Disconnect from Facebook and that will break the link for you. 

Also, just to protect your inbox from spam I am going to hide your email address from non-staff members 😉

Hi there, I also seem to be having the same problem listed, that my Spotify account is linked to the wrong Facebook account.  Even when I log out and log back in, my Spotify account is still associated with someone else's name, although the picture changes to mine.  Could you please help me reset it?  Thanks in advance!

I had that happen to me in the past....it happened when I was signed into Facebook on Firefox and my friend was signed into Facebook under Internet Explorer.  Since theirs was under IE and IE was the default browser, it logged in with that name, I signed out of Spotify, then signed them out of Facebook and made sure the right browser was default, then logged back in again and it had the correct name once I changed the default browser and signed out my friend.... (sorry for runon sentence)... lol

Hi, I have axactly the same problem I'm afraid. My fiance seems to be linked (through facebook) to my account, not me, in fact sometimes it has her name and my picture! And now if i log in as myself it doesn't have my playlists anymore!

Are you using your Spotify username and password to log in (not your Facebook details)? 

That should get you back into your account with your playlists.

If not, you will need the Spotify team to help you out, drop them an email using this form and someone will be able to help recover your accounts. 

If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.
