I have the wrong facebook account linked to my spotify account

Hi,

I have no idea how but when I log into Spotify I now have my friend's Facebook account connected to it instead of mine.

I need to have it disconnected - I have followed numerous instructions (i.e. disconnected from Facebook under 'preferences') but it still continues to show her name on the top right hand corner when I log in and is connected to her account.

Can someone please help me disconnect her account from my Spotify?

Everytime I try to set up a spotify account it opens up an old friends account and I can't delete, or change it.  Its now linked to my facebook account and shows my picture but my friends details, and I can't change it as I dont know this persons password! 

I've tried to delete the facebook app but everytime I reinstate it shows this persons account.  Please help - I dont even know if I actually have an account or not!

If you log into the desktop client using your Facebook details, then go to Edit/Spotify > Preferences > Social Network > Disconnect from Facebook which should trigger a logout and then log back in using your Facebook details again, that will break the connection and then your Facebook account will be completely seperate.

Same problem here. A friend logged in under their name and now it looks as though ours are linked. Her facebook profile pic is in my spot. Her name shows up when I log in with my login on the program, but on the website, my username and her pic show up.

If you have disconnected her account following the steps above, then the changes just take a little time to take effect on the server. It will sort itself out within 24 hours normally.

You can do this yourself with the desktop client 😉 

Go to Edit/Spotify > Preferences > Social Network > Disconnect from Facebook.

My dad has premium service and somehow our accounts have become linked. Now it's saying I am the owner and my dad can't even reap the benefits of offline mode. WTF, please help. He is having a meltdown and is ready to cancel his service.

I'm a very loyal customer of spotify for years.

i showed people the service and downloaded it at their pc's. until one time a women connected her facebook to my spotify account.

Now every time i start up i saw her face etc. now she said she had cancelled it already and i did try connect my facebook to spotify.

i think that was done correctly. Cuz noticing my friends are within the lists...

Still when you watch the spotify profile you see her face. also when i start following one of my homies. you see her face within their friends and they thinking who the .*&% is she....

understand.. its really embarassing and especially cuz im already using spotify for several years.. can someone plx fix this quick!!

Hey @jipstar and @irishlady 🙂 

Firstly, just going to hide that email address to protect you from spam!

Would you both be able to go to:

Edit/Spotify > Preferences > Social Network > Disconnect From Facebook 

in the desktop client and then reconnect with your own details and that should change the account attached your your Spotify profile. (I know you might have tried before but sometimes it can take a little hard work!).

If that doesn't work for you @jipstar can you try disconnecting from Facebook as above and then performing a reinstallation of the client before reconnecting again?

I dont have a pc, only mobile phone. So i cant access preferences. My account username is the same one as here.

@thamify - If you drop the customer services team an email using the online contact form they should be able to do that for you.
