I'm being charged every month even though I only have Spotify Free

I'm being charged every month even though I only have Spotify Free

I cancelled my Spotify Premium subscription quite some time ago, but going through my finances today (not doing this often) I noticed that I was just charged by Spotify. Doing a bit more digging, I found out that this has been going on for quite some time. I don't use your services, and when I log in to Spotify it correctly identifies my subscription as Spotify Free. I'm wondering whose subscription I'm funding. I'd like my money back please.

Hey @hfrizz,

It sounds like you've got a second account with Spotify. Are there any other email addresses you could have used to register with Spotify? It's worth checking those inboxes to see if you have any Spotify emails -- that will mean your extra account is registered with that email.

  • If you don't have another email address, note how you log into the Spotify app usually.
  • If you use your Facebook details try entering your Spotify username (if you created one originally).
  • If you use your Spotify username try entering just your email address.

There are no other email addresses I've ever used. This has been checked.

I haven't logged in for more than a year due to me not using Spotify's services.

My account was merged with my Facebook account, entering my email prompts me to use my Facebook account for login. When I try to reset my password using my original username I get no emails.

Alright, please get in touch with Spotify Support so they can look into this 🙂

If you get an automated reply email telling you to check the Knowledgebase or the Spotify Community, you need to reply back to it, even if it's from a no-reply address. Spotify Support usually replies within 24-48 hours.
