Hi,
 
Quite the conundrum:
 
At the login prompt, I select "Login using Spotify details"
 
Currently, my account (accessed directly via Spotify and not via facebook) is associated with an old email address I've since discontinued and therefore cannot receive email sent to that address.
 
I *can* still log-in to my Spotify account with the username & password associated with that old email.
 
When I try to update the Spotify profile with my current email address, the error message returned is:
"Another account is already registered with this email address."
 
Perhaps that is due to the fact that it is the email associated with my facebook profile.
 
However when I click on the "Forgot password or username?" button and the reset password screen pulls up and I enter the currently valid gmail address, the error message is:
 
"The email address you provided is not associated with an active Spotify account."
 
Objective is to either:
1) I would like to merge any & all details, prefs, playlists, user activity, history, etc from both Spotify profiles into one active profile and associate it with the current gmail address and current facebook profile.
 
2) Or simply delete all existing accounts and start fresh with my current gmail & fb info.
(I would also like to rename my username, so this might be the ideal option.)

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂

 

It sounds like you do have 2 accounts in the system, don't worry its easy to fix.


Just get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form and they will be able to remove the extra account for you. Once that is done, you will be able to change your email address and connect your standard Spotify account to Facebook if you wish.

If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.

I see that mods in this forum can also make the adjustments...

how can i retrieve a forgotten password when i've deleted the gmail account that spotify was linked too ?
