Message saying incorrect username or password at log in

I started off with the free version.  Today I signed up for premium, provided method of payment and received email notification from spotify that they received my premium sign up info.  I logged out. Hit my spotify icon and checked my account info, which still has me on the free plan.  I try to log in and get a message that either my username or password is incorrect.  I go for the password reset option, resubmit my original password (and have tried alternate options as well) and following each attempt I get a message saying the PW has been reset.  I then try to log in again, getting the same original error message indicating either the username or password is incorrect.  The username is noted on the message spotify sent me acknowledging their receipt of my payment info.  Short story is I cannot seem to log in to the premium plan that I just signed up for....does anyone have any suggestions...thanks
