Missed payment - Credit Score

Hi there

I've not had access to my email or spotify recently (this month). During this period I did not notice a failure in paying my subscription on the 1st August due to my debit card expiring. I have now lost my Premium subscription.

I am curious as to whether or not Spotify reports missed payments and if so what will this do to my credit rating. Or put another way, what does spotify leave on my credit report following missed payments. Also, how many missed payments have been reported in this instance. It should only be one missed payment but does every attempt at a payment collection during the same week count.

I'm looking to apply for a mortgage and this will be the only blip in a very clean credit history. I just want to know if it will affect me.

After also sending this message to the support team I received the following 'very helpful' response...


"Hi Colin,

Thanks for getting in touch. We understand that you'd like to whether or not the failed transactions would affect your credit rating.

We've had a look into your account and it looks like we were unable to get the payments on the usual renewal date. We've now refreshed your account and you're now back on Free.

We don't send reports about this missed payment so you need not worry. If ever you want to resubscribe to us, feel free to do so here.
