My daughters email was used by friend

Dear Community 

My daughter let her friend have ther email address to make account on spotify. I changed the email of the account so here email was not being used anymore. Now when i try to sign her up for a new spotify account spotify only says : email in use although it is not in use. 

Is it possible that I need to give the more time so the email gets erased from spotify´s database or am I screwed?
