My username changed into some letters and digits and I can't edit my profile data

My Question or Issue

Hello there. So I recently noticed that in the desktop app my username changed from KevTV into some random combination of letters and digits. So I tried to edit this in my profile but when I click on 'edit profile' I'm not able to click into the textboxes to edit anything, besides the option to edit the username doesn't even appear, only email adress, password and all that other stuff.

So my question is: what the **bleep**? How do I fix this?

If you noticed your username suddenly changing to a string of numbers and letters make sure to check this Spotify Answer. This will help you perform the necessary changes and privacy settings on your Spotify account. 

Also, keep in mind there's a difference between the username and display name of your Spotify account. Here you can find more info on how to change your display name to a desired one.  

We suggest using a private/incognito window when opening your account overview page to avoid cache-related issues.

Do you still experience the issue with your display name? If the Spotify Answer we linked didn't work for you, how about when trying in a private/incognito window? Let us know what outcome you see when trying this step. 

It'd also be great if you can send us a screenshot displaying how your account overview page looks like. Just attach the image to your next response to us by using the Insert Photos option in the post editor. This way we can take a closer look at the issue.
