I am trying to set up spotify on sonos i request the email so i can set my password but it doesnt come. I have checked junk folders and added the spotify email to safe sender list etc..
When i signed up for the 30 day trial of Premium, i got the email receipt for that, but not the password email

Hi Meredith - This is Indian82 (as g31110). I now got on as g31110 and I see my old songs/lists so thank you so much for that.
I've used the name Indian82 for other things so I really don't know how this got created on Spotify. I think it had something to do with my FB account. After I tried something there it seems like the Indian82 became a new Spotify acct. I will say that I am concerned that I will end up in the same boat if I log back in to FB. Do you think that will happen or is ther something else I should do to get the old acct linked back to FB - and should I (or you) delete that (Indian82) acct. Thanks for getting me this far and however you help in the future.
The password system on Spotify is so bad it should be called Mystify. I tried to log in using my Squeezebox Radio. I needed a "username" and "password". I assumed my username might be my Facebook name, and the password would be the Facebook password. Tried that. Nope. Then I clicked around on Spotify's web page and figured out my username was a multi-digit number. Tried that with my Facebook password. Nope, did not work. So I tried to figure out how to generage a password. Found something on the Spotify site saying "click to set password". I clicked it and received an email with the following statement: "To set a password to use Spotify on your devices simple follow the link below: " The typo on the word "simple" was a red flag telling me Spotify is not paying much attention to the password reset, but clicked the link. Got me to a page with NO instructions as to how to set or reset a password. Finally found a link on that page, and all it did was generage the same useless email! This is the worst password interface on the web, without a doubt!
I sent a note to Spotify using their "Contact" page, got a form email saying I should read the forum to find my answer. I've read through over 40 notes here, many complaining of a similar problem, with responses from Spotify moderators that seem pretty useless, I must say. How about a friggin' link on the page that actually brings you to a "set password" spot? How about generating an email that says "Here is your new password...use this link to reset your password", or something like that, very common on the web with secure websites. At this point, unless I solve this soon, I'm back to using Pandora.

g31110: All you need to do is follow the steps I linked to above. When you connected FB to your 'g31110' account you will remove that FB linked account (Indian82).
You can then immediately disconnect from FB if you'd like.
Peabodymat: The reason you've not received this password email is because you've currently got a free Spotify account.
In order to use Spotify on your Squeezebox you'll need to upgrade to Premium. You can do that instantly via your subscription page.
This is really starting to get annoying. I'm trying to get my spotify password so my ipod doesn't always say OFFLINE MODE. It's been a day and still no email -___-. About to cancel my premium if I keep recieving service like this. I don't pay 10 dollars a month for frustration
Meredith, I appreciate your answer. It's too bad that the Spotify web page did not make that remotely clear. It would have saved me from wasting quite a bit of time going around in circles.
Oh...and based on that experience with their interface, the chances of me upgrading to a paid account went way way down.

So as you opened your account via Facebook you'll just log in with your FB email/ password.
If you need to reset that password you'll need to go through the Facebook website.
Not getting the password email either. Please send manually.

Let us know if you still don't get that email. Be sure to keep an eye on your Spam filter too.

Please note the more requests you make the slower the process will be. If it's been more than 2 days, please get in touch via the contact form
