My Question or Issue

Hi; I have Spotify {Free version} on my Desktop PC, and I have a PlayList of approaching 200 Songs.
I would like to copy that Playlist to my iPhone 8 Plus. I have installed the Spotify {Free} App on my 'phone, and had hoped {naively} that it might magically 'sync' - but of course it didn't!
Is it technically possible to copy the Playlist to my mobile device? And, if so, how do I do it?!?
My thanks in advance for any guidance/advice.
Tony Wright

Hey there @Emanon69Kiandra,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

Just to clarify, you should be able to see in your mobile device the same playlists you've created and saved on your computer. No matter which device you use, you should be able to see the same library when logging into the same account. In that sense, if you're seeing playlists or saved tracks on one device but not on another, first make sure you're logged in on the same account on both devices.

You can start by checking your credentials on the desktop app. Click the profile picture at the top-right of the screen on the desktop app, and select Account on the drop-down menu. You'll be redirected to your account page, there select Edit personal info. You'll see there your username and the email linked to that account.

After that, check the credentials of the account you logged into your mobile device. To do this, you can follow these steps:

  1. Tap the picture profile at the top-left of the screen.
  2. Go to Settings and privacy
  3. At the top, tap Account. There you can find the username and the email linked to your account (if any).

Check if the info matches, if it doesn't, it means you have multiple accounts. If the credentials are the same, make sure your apps are not in Offline Mode.

MANY thanks for that.
Indeed, the credentials ARE different - both UserName AND e/mail address.
SO, I have attempted to replicate the desktop info in the mobile App - and, on retyping the e/mail address I'm getting "Sorry, that address is already in use"! [Well, yes, obviously - it's mine!!]
And I don't seem able to alter the UserName on the Mobile.
I suspect that the REAL problem is that I'm an aged dinosaur who has no idea what he's doing; probably best that I quit while I'm behind! {Which is a shame; I was hoping to get my 'Liked Songs' onto my 'phone so that I could play them in the car}.
Hey ho; I don't recommend getting old {even though I'm told that it is preferable to the alternative!}.
Thanks again for trying to help me.
Best,
Tony

Hi, @Emanon69Kiandra,

Don't worry, you got this! Sounds like you're accidentally trying to create a new account, hence the "Sorry, that address is already in use" error. Instead, look for the Log in option - that should do the trick!

You'll be prompted to enter your username/email + password. Use the same credentials as on desktop. If necessary, you can reset your password by following the steps here.

After logging in successfully, your playlist (and your whole library) should now show up properly on your iPhone as well!

Hope this helps! Let us know how it goes 👍
