Password not accepted when trying to upgrade to premium

When trying to upgrade to premium my spotify password is not accepted.

 

  • I go to spotify.com and log in using my user name and password
  • Then I click on "Upgrade" in the top menu bar
  • Then I select Premium by clicking on "Get Premium"
  • I enter my Spotify password into the password field under "Authorize using your payment details"
  • After entering my password I click on "Confirm purchase"

This is where I am told "Sorry, wrong password".

 

What I have done try to get around this problem:

  • Verified that my password is correct countless times. Copy/paste, manually typing it in, autofilling etc. The password works when logging in at the main page, but does not work when confirming the purchase.
  • Different browsers. Tried Google Chrome and Firefox.
  • Sent an email to Spotify support. I have not heard back yet. I think this was about a week ago.

My password is long and contains a lot of special characters but I don't think this should be a problem.

 

Am I doing something wrong? Could anyone please help me with this problem?

Strange, might be worth changing your password from your online profile and see if it will then let you subscribe?

Strange, might be worth changing your password from your online profile and see if it will then let you subscribe?
