Premium for Family account question

I got Spotify Premium for my son on his account a while back.  I now want to upgrade to Family and was wondering what the best way would be.  Would I upgrade my account (which is now Free) to Family and then invite him?  Will that "cancel" his Premium to be included in the Family plan?  His concern is he doesn't want to lose "his music" (I'm assuming things he's downloaded or playlists, I'm not sure).

You should upgrade your Free account and invite him. That will make you the Family Admin (the one who pays).

If he's Premium through spotify.com, his remaining Premium subscription will 'freeze' and will become available once he's out of the Family Premium.

If he's Premium through a mobile provider, or another partner, he needs to cancel it before joining your Family Plan.
