Pricing discrepancy

First of all, i'm from Singapore.

I noticed that Spotify is having a promo of 1st 3 months @ USD0.99/mth. Thereafter, it'll be USD9.90/mth. I've read that apple app store charges about 30% more than the USD 9.90

But what i saw from the app store in-app purchase section. It shows SGD12.98. And if using the current rate of SGD/USD @ 1.42, it'll be USD9.15. Not sure if there's the 3months promo when purchasing in-app. (See attached screenshot)

I'm not sure where's the "extra charge" being implemented at.

So, if i were to subscribe directly from Spotify website, it'll be charged to my credit card at USD9.90 where bank rates are always horrible. So assuming it's @1.45, it'll be about SGD14.36 

Difference is around SGD1.38 for 1 month.

Best solution is to subscribe through Spotify website for 1st 3months to get promo pricing, then unsubscribe at 3rd mth and then subscribe through iOS Spotify in-app purchase?

Any advice?

Hello, 

My best advice is to take advantage of the deal for 3 months (0.99) and then cancel it once the 3 months is finished. After that I suggest you continue paying for Spotify on their website other than Apples service "iTunes". I say this because Apple charges you 30% more when you make a transaction with their service.
