My Question or Issue

I'm having trouble accessing my account from my mobile device. After entering my username and password, I get the message:
"You can only use Spotify abroad for 14 days. To continue using it, please update your location at Spotify.com."

I logged in from a web browser, but I can't find where to change my location. Furthermore, the region I have associated is correct: Spain.
How can I fix this?

Many thanks.

Best regards.
Oskar

Hey @Cheps

Most of those problems come from a difference between the country shown through your IP address, and the one in your profile.

First, check your IP address here.

After that, compare it to the country shown in your profile.

If you opened your account with Facebook, your country is tied to the country shown in your Facebook account, so you may need to change it there.

Also, your payment method (if you used one for Premium) must match your country too, so you may need to delete it to update countries.

Change your country setting in your profile page so it matches what your IP address shows.

Hope it helps. 🙂

Hi osornios,

Thank you very much for your help.

I checked the IP address and profile settings, and they matched: Spain.

I uninstalled the app from my phone and reinstalled it, and I'm now able to access it.

Thanks again.

Best regards,

Oskar.

Hey @5Horhe9,

Welcome to the Community and thank you for joining the conversation.

Jumping in just to add a couple of things you could try. If the issue persists after checking the info sent previously by @osornios, check if you have any active VPN as it may affect the proper behavior of the app. If so, turn it off to see if it makes any difference.

It would also be great if you could have someone log in with their account on your device - such as a friend or a family member, to see if the issue persists.

Lastly, would you mind checking on a different device (using your own account) to see if it makes any difference? If you don't have another one available, you can borrow one from the same friend or relative to test it out.

We'll be on the lookout for your response.
