My profile was flooded from one second to the other with ~400 songs, albums and Artists (mostly Indian) and were instantly flagged as "recently listened". I saw this happening while switching a song in my favorite songs playlists as they all appeared in this list as well.
I thought my account was hacked and changed my password and app links immediately, but I am wondering
(A) could it be a glitch on Spotify's side? as I didn't saw any suspicious activity regarding my login data, account and email adress and same for linked apps.
(B) how to delete the listening history or remove all those tracks and artists from my listening taste profile? All I found was to add those to my taste profile, there is no way to do the contrary why?

I saw in the forum that the problem seems to be ongoing since ~5 years... and the only advice was "keep listening, the algorithm will correct itself". The algorithm is anyway already a pain to keep on track with my music taste, I don't want to spent the rest of the year "training" the algorithm to my listening behavior. It destroyed basically everything which it already "learned" over the last 10 years.
If there is no solution, any recommendations for alternative streaming platforms with a different algorithm approach than Spotify?

Thanks a lot and cheers

Hi @edevers ,

Thank you for reaching out to Spotify Community,

You can only exclude playlists from your Taste Profile and use hide songs via the path here.

This will impact past and future listens from that playlist and will have less impact on your taste summaries and recommendations. Currently, it's not possible to remove songs from your history and statistics. What you can do is listen to more of your favorite content to overwrite the current data in your algorithm.

Additionally, you can submit your suggestions here

Hope this helps

Thanks for your reply, but this is what I've already done. Was deleting and hiding the playlists. It still throws in those songs in recommendations and even puts them together in weekly mixes. If there is no solution to remove them completely from the taste profile, then there is not much which can be done. It leaves me just with an annoying experience everytime I open the app. Not very great customer experience.

When I compare it to e.g. online computer games, where account hacks with theft or switch of digital assets can happen, those things could suffenciently be restored...at least in my experience. "Keep listening" seems not to be the best solution. Yes on the company side there is no damage and why would they change something as each listen, no matter which artist, keeps the money rolling, but from a personal customer experience, messing up my music algorithm is pretty much a damage.

Thanks anyways for taking the time to answer.
