Hey @finrodfelagund, welcome to the Spotify Community!

This is odd. If you make your playlist private, they should stay that way unless you make your playlist collaborative. Can you give it another try? You'll find the steps to do it here. We suggest that you try it from the desktop Spotify app if possible.

Also, keep in mind that you can only make these changes to the playlists you created with your Spotify account. You won't be able to do it with a playlist you follow that was made by another user.

Let us know how it goes. Have a great day!

hey

i double check if i made them collaborative. also problem happens when i play that list on mobile. it just magically turns public even if i turn on private session.

Spotify have included a new feature in your Settings that enables you to choose the default viewability mode for any playlist! I suggest that you go to these settings and make sure it's on Private, this means any playlist you create will be automatically secret (by turning it off)

It's under Social > Spotify in the preferences option (Ctrl + P on Windows)

Hope this helps!

Best Wishes, Will

it is already set for automatic secret so i dont think its relevant but thanks anyway

Hey @finrodfelagund.

That's odd. Is this happening to any playlist you use, or a specific one? Also, could you send us your mobile device's make and model, OS, and Spotify version number?

We'll see wha to suggest.

hey

this is only happening one playlist i use and another one which i never play on mobile. i am using xperia m5, android 6.0 and spotify 8.4.53.703 armV7.

Alright!

In this case, let's try reinstalling Spotify on your Xperia to see if it helps. You can also try restarting the phone.

Let me know how it goes.
