My Question or Issue

I shut off "Show the now-playing panel on click of play" and "Display short, looping visuals on tracks (Canvas)" in settings, but when reopening spotify, it resets these settings. It should save these settings to my account, why do I have to go into settings and reenter those each time I log in?

Hey @pwnnarbs, welcome to the Spotify Community! 🎵

There are a few things to consider here:

  • Incognito mode means every time you open it will store fresh data, there will be no cache or persistent storage to call the settings from.
  • Not all of the Spotify settings sync across devices since some of them are per-device or per-platform. It is possible that these are few of those settings.

I'd recommend using normal window and not incognito so your local settings are always the same. I can confirm from my experience that using the web player in normal window doesn't reset your settings every time you visit.

Let me know if you need anything else. 🙂
