Sorry, as I suppose this must be the most common problem in here, still, I can't find any solution.
Until recently, I have been able to log in to Spotify both from Start menu and from Facebook. Since yesterday. If I try opening the program in from Start Up, a new-comers screen is displayed, and I am asked to log in with Facebook or Spotify. I start with Facebook (my email address is already displayed), enter my password, and a "beginner's screen" appears, welcoming me to Spotify. A bit down this box, it says "Are you ****** (username)? Please login.". I do, this time with my Spotify name and password, and the message that an Error occorred/Please try again." I've had my password reset twice, still nothing changes.
Strange thing is, though, that logging into the Spotify web pages, work like a dream, both Facebook- and Spotify-wise.
Any hints, please?
same issue 😞
I am having the same problem! Please help!!!!!!!
exactly the same problem - I tried logging in other people's computers and it worked fine, but from my computer, despite password changes/attempts to log in through facebook, it won't let me!
Having the same problem here!
Yep same problem here
Same problem for me as well. It's really frustrating...
After a few attempts I managed logging in through my smartphone. Then I could open spotify on my computer as usual but with the new update. The big problem though, is that all my playlists are GONE!!!! Fuuuuck... I don't know what to do?? How do I get my playlists back?
Hey guys,
Okvaal - You should be able to log in if you use the username 'okvaal' and your Spotify password. You'll then access your original account. Don't worry, you will be able to reconnect to Facebook once you're in.
Jesspace - Like Okvaal, could you log in with the username 'jesspace' and your Spotify password.
Gemmagemgem - Great username. Like above, just log in with the username 'gemmagemgem' and your Spotify password. You'll be able to relink Facebook and Spotify too.
Kristianrebo - Like the others, just log in with the username 'kristianrebo' and your Spotify password.
Jswanko - Likewise, just log in with 'jswanko' and Spotify password.
Olofj - As well, just log in with your original username 'olofj88' and Spotify password. You, like the others, should be able to relink your Spotify and Facebook accounts straight away.
Azeck - I can't seem to find your original account. Did you originally sign up with a different email address? Do you remember your original username?
I have a similar issue, and I can't figure out how to fix it.
Before yesterday everything worked fine. I have a premium account I use on my laptops and iphone. Suddenly I was forced to log in again and when I selected to log in with facebook I got the new user screen.
I can log in on the desktop app using my email address (raydelapena@gmail.com). However, that email address is different than my facebook email address. I think I accidentally created a new account by trying to log in with my facebook account on my iphone. Now, when I try to connect my account to facebook it's saying "Sorry there has been a temporary error, please try again later."
Help!
Strange. To begin with, it still wouldn't work. Although I was able to log in to this page using my Spotify user name and password. I tried this a hundred times now, so I should know. 🙂
(Green background, white box with a yellowish flag and the words "An error occurred. Sorry, but we couldn't connect you to your Spotify account. Please try again." Below: "Hi Ole Kvaal, login to your existing Spotify account." Which I couldn't. I had my password reset, the same thing happened. I closed "the green window", and there, behind it was another log in screen, in which I entered username and password and reconnected to FB. I logged out, in again, and there it was.
Still no idea what happened, but the problem seems to have been solved, for which I thank you. 🙂
But then, any idea why quite a few (?) suddenly started having the same issues? I've been using Spotify for years, without anything like this happening:
It is now fixed!
Hi Sam,
I've got the same problem and have tried logging in with my spotify details but every time it tells me that either my username of password are incorrect. I've changed my password twice.
Basically, spotify logged me out a few days ago, possibly when I logged out of FB. Now, when I want to log in, it comes up with the FB login for new users, so I click on the 'already existing user' which directs me to the normal spotify login.... but it won't let me log in with my details.
Any ideas?
Hi
I have the exact same problem! Please help me out here, I'm not able to log in with me original Spotify account.
And all my playlists are gone if I log in with spotify :'(
Original Spotify user: jacxz
Facebook related user account: 1197490685
Also it turns out I can't reset my password since I get the following error messages when I try to do so:
"The email address you provided is not associated with an active Spotify account."
"Unfortunately there is no email address associated with the specified user. We are therefore unable to send a password retrieval URL to you."
Hey @MrJacxz ! Welcome to the community 🙂
I would suggest you get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form and they will be able to help you get everything sorted out with your accounts.
If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.
