My Question or Issue

I know that there is already an identical question to this one:

https://community.spotify.com/t5/Accounts/Spotify-friends-activity-empty-not-updating/td-p/5308639

However I think it is not the same problem, because the OP of that question can see his friend online. My problem is that I can't see any friends or followers. I supposedly have 11 followers from what my girlfriend showed me, and I can't even see their activity, nor see my girlfriend online in the list. It also shows I have 0 facebook friends on my spotify facebook integ., which is a lie. The app keeps loading endlessly.

I made exactly the same fix attempts as the OP of the other message did, also without success.

Hey @hubertpires,

Thanks for your reply and for the info shared.

We'd like you to know we updated the Friend Activity default to private so that users have greater control over how their listening activity is shared with others on Spotify. Users that want to make their listening activity public, can turn sharing on in the Settings menu.

So in this case, you have to take into the account these additional details:

  1. Make sure you're following users in the app, not just artists.
  2. The users you follow must have enabled permissions to share their listening activity under settings from their own accounts (kudos for already checked this!).
  3. The users you follow must have listened to a track for at least 30 secs within the last week.
  4. You have enabled permissions to share your listening activity under settings.

Take into account Friend Activity might not update in real time. You can read more about it here and, If the inconvenience persists, you can follow the basic troubleshooting there.
We'll be on the lookout for your replies.

Until then!

Hi. Good day!

It's possible that your friends may have turned off their listening activity. If their settings look like this (or if they are on a private session), their listening activity wont show up on your end.

Hi. Thanks for replying.
No, I checked and some of them have everything active.
The file attached is from my gf and she has everything that should make it appear on my user active...

This is a Spotify problem related to my account and I can't fix it.
