Spotify Family and adding 2 members

So I recently had my Premium subscription lapse and had to resign up. Previously I had 2 famliy members added to my subcription for the discounted price of  $5/each.  I went ahead and renewed my Premium subscription today but did not see where to add family members back on. So AFTER renewing I still do not see where to add members. From what I am reading in the forums I will have to start another Premium subscription and add 2 members for a total of $19.99. Here in lies the issue. I have already paid for the 1st subscription and will not be refunded or credited for that even if I go ahead and start the 2nd subscription with 2 family members. Can anyone confirm this? Is there a better/best solution?
