Spotify Student Upgrade

Hi there!

I've had a Spotify Premium account for a little bit over two years. I'm heading off to university next week and I forgot to ask about the Student discount earlier in the summer as I've been busy. 

My questions:

-Can an EXISTING Premium account be "upgraded" to a student discounted one?

-What do I need to provide to verify that I am a student in the US?

-Do I have to resubscribe to  student account 12 months after this one?

Thanks so much! I apologize if this isn't the right spot! I haven't gotten clear answers about this and I was wondering if I could save some money.

Greetings,

1. To switch to student premium first you have to cancel your current subscription (Do not worry, for you will still get the period for which you have payed for.) You can cancel it here. Then you need to get the student discount and verify that you are indeed a student. You can do that here.

2. I am not sure what the qualifications are for student verification, but I think they are not too complex. I know you have to select your own institution, but I am not sure about after that. It is automatic, so it may just see if there is a student at that institution with the same details as you or something.  There is also a manual process, but will take longer, maybe up to twelve hours.

3. It is my understanding that you will have to resubscribe for the student discount every twelve months, but you should still have the discount apply to you if you are still at a place of higher education.

  This FAQ is quite useful, which may indeed explain things a little more clearly, and may in fact have even more answers.
