Spotify and Sonos - Interruptions

Hello,

I've recently switched to Spotify from Rdio for music streaming services (as I suspect many others will be too as Rdio is shutting down).

When playing Rdio through my Sonos system (5 players in various rooms) I would also be able to listen on my iPhone or computer without any interruption to either (both using the same account). It was as if I had linked a completely separate Rdio account to my Sonos system. This is not the case with Spotify.

A use case would be: listening to Spotify using Sonos at home, leaving for work and listening to Spotify using the iOS app in the car. This causes the Sonos to stop playing, but my wife hadn't left for work yet and now can't listen because the Sonos is using my Spotify account.

This was never an issue on Rdio, is this a Spotify or Sonos issue and does anyone have any ideas?
