Spotify in Japan?

Does Spotify have any current plans to open up in Japan? I was a constant user of the program in Australia, but having moved to Japan found that the software is not supported in this region. I really do miss Spotify and would like to know if I'd be able to use it in the not-to-distant future.

I've already signed up for the news email that would notify me when it opens up in Japan, but of couse I've received nothing yet.

I have been living in Japan for over a year and just login into my Spotify account registered in UK. I am able to login using my facebook account on both my iPhone which is a Japanese phone running on Japanese network and on my laptop. I am using my UK bank account which I kept open to pay for the premium service of Spotify UK. 

I am not sure why you cannot just login to your Australian account. 

I have heard rumours it is coming to Japan, even I have seen job advertisements for PR for Japan service but they've been around for well over a year. 

Who knows when it will happen. For me I am fine but I am constantly having to find youtube links to send my girlfriend as she cannot get Spotify (she is Japanese) with not possibility to sign up to Spotify in any other supoorting country. Please bring it soon so I can share all the great songs I can find to my friends here.

I will be moving to Japan next month because of work, my company is transferring me from Manila, the Philippines where Ive been based for the last two years to Tokyo, I discovered Spotify here and I am loving, and using it with the Pilippino Credit Card the company gave me, and as I will be relocated I will have to render the card and get a new one in Japan, which I asumme wont work for Spotify.

I've seen that I can purchase one year suscriptions as a gift to myself, and was thinking on buying two 1year susbscritions hoping they will work  for the next two years, will my spotify premium account continue to work in Japan, If I do this? I dont have at this moment other credit cards as Im allways moving from countries because of work, and I never really needed one from my country.... 

Please help, I need my spotify... 😞

Hello! I signed up for the premium spotify trial period in Japan. I was able to download it in my anxious but when I try to open the app I get a "parsing" error. Any recommendations? Thank you!

Apparently paying for Premium does not grant access to Spotify worldwide. "You need to use a card issued in a Spotify launched market."  This really bummed me out.

Unfortunately it does not help.

Unless there is a bug of some kind, Spotify in Japan requires a whole new account. or it is blocked for everyone except their beta users.

Anyhow, I have not seen much of a change with the Japanese song selections outside of Japan (from a US based account).

I'll know more when I eventually get my invite.  I hope it's soon, but I remember how Gmail's went when that was in beta.

Spotify is now available in Japan but requires an invite code but you can request one on the Japanese homepage, it take about 12-48 hours to receive an email with an invite code

It took me 10 days to receive mine.

I also find it disingenuous that Japanese accounts can switch between Japan and US freely, but US ones cannot.

My best hope is somehow they manage to free the JP tracks to the international audience.
