Switch to Student Discount

Hello, I have a $10 Spotify Premium subscription right now, but I'd like to switch to a Student subscription.  I went to https://www.spotify.com/us/student/.  When I clicked "Get Premium", it took me to https://www.spotify.com/us/account/subscription/.  How do I sign up for the discount!

I am trying to switch to the student discount. My friends registered with school issued e-mail and they all got detected automatically. I changed my e-mail in profile to the uni issued e-mail but I was not recognized. Is there any way I can keep my old account and still apply for the discound? Im enrolled in Czech Republic.

Prueba usando un navegador diferente. Tambien puedes probar con una ventana privada (modo incognito).

De igual modo, prueba utilizando un dispositivo diferente (otra computadora, tablet, etc.)

Unfortunately, for the time being, it's not possible to pay through a third party. You would have to use a credit card to make your payment.

Just apply to the student discount here, logged in to your account.

After you sign up for the student discount, the discounted rate will kick in at your next monthly subscription renewal date.

Just remember that your account will be linked to your girlfriend's student information, so if she ever wants her own account, she won't be able to get the discount again.

Did you get an email receipt from Spotify for your subscription purchase?

In it, it shows the Spotify username you paid for:

Username/ID:        xxxxxxx

Logout of the app, and be sure to use it, instead of your email address, to login to your account. It's the one with the Premium features.

If you didn't get any email receipt, sometimes the amount gets 'on hold' even if the charge doesn't go through. Normally the amount gets back to your bank account a day or two later.

You can get a refund before 15 days have passed from the date of purchase. You should fill out the contact form, and someone from Spotify will be happy to help you within 24 hrs. Don't forget to check your spam folder for responses as they may end up there.

If you get an automated email directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you.

You should try with a different browser, or open a private window (incognito mode), and see if that does it.

Also, try in a different device (computer, tablet, etc.)

I switch to the student discount , and it charged me but said I need the upload proof ,so I went to get the proof from my school but when I went to upload it would not let me and now it saying I need to do the whole thing again but my card had already been charged . What should I do

If you didn't get any email receipt, sometimes the amount gets 'on hold' even if the charge doesn't go through. Normally the amount gets back to your bank account a day or two later.

Are you in the US?

Try using this site to validate.

If it succeeds, when you log back in your Spotify account, and look under the subscription tab the price will change to $4.99 for your upcoming renewal date.

hey everyone, spotify have created a student discount for australia for uni students, you can register through student edge   at studentedge.org  website, their policy is also below, it gives 50% off spotify premium to eligible uni students in australia https://www.spotify.com/au/legal/student-discount-terms-and-conditions/  if u read this message and it has helped u or someone u know, please copy and paste it and forward it onto other student discount petitions on spotify, and in replies to peoples comments, so that the word spreads 🙂

thank u to everyone who has campaigned for this reform in spotify music has helped my mental health enormously and to stay strong minded so thank you to everyone for campaigning for this reform and thank u to spotify for this change. i think it shoud be extended to all students, everywhere, world wide, TAFE, uni, high schools and primary schools and everyone on low incomes or who cannot afford to pay for membership.
