This email address or username is not linked to a Spotify account issue

I am trying to sign up for Spotify. However when trying to use my gmail account I get an error "This email address or username is not linked to a Spotify account".

So I try to Continue with Google. However I then get "You do not have a Spotify account connected to your Google Account. If you have a Spotify account, please log in with your Spotify email or username. If you do not have a Spotify account, please sign up."

So I then try and sign up but dont click via google. I manually type in my gmail account to sign up with but then get "This address is already linked to an existing account. To continue, log in."

I have used another email to create this post but still need to sign up with another email account.
