Turn off followers?!?

Turn off followers?!?

Hello

Could anyone tell me why- (im looking at you, Spotify), I cant turn off followers or at least make my account private, to approve followers etc?

I dont need people I dont know being notified when I fire up The Venga Boys on a friday afternoon!!!

I would expect this as a pretty basic feature for a subscription service charging almost $12 per month.

Hello! Welcome to the Community!

You can hide your activity from your followers on the Settings. On the "Activity Sharing" area, you can uncheck "Share my activity and what I listen to with my followers on Spotify".

There's an option to stop sharing to Facebook, too.

Let me know this solves your problem ;D

Hello BOGANized,

You can prevent your followers from knowing what you listen to by going into the Desktop application, click the "Edit" menu, click on Preferences, and then under "Activity Sharing" and then "Privacy" you can prevent them from knowing. Then under "Profile" you can disable all of the options to make further playlists and activity private.

Edit: Sniped me 🙂

What's a Spotify Rock Star, and how do I become one?

Thanks all!

That's helpful.

I wish you could just turn off followers, however.

@BOGANized , you CAN make your playlists private too...just another option.

Cheers!

There is also a Private Session option (click your name in the top right corner) for those brief periods of embarrassing tunes we all have!

There's no such setting. Mac latest OSX. Where in "Settings" is this? There's one section called "Privacy", which only has some jazz about cookies. Nowhere do I see an option to disable and hide all Following info from being shown, or disable followers, or disable people to see my profile -- ever. The "private session" non-feature is useless.

Useless feature if we have to keep turning it on EVERY time.
