Unable to log in with Facebook

Hey everyone,

I've been reading a lot of questions with the same issue I'm having, however, none of the solutions provided helped. 

When I first created my Spotify account, I didn't link it to facebook at first. After a couple years maybe, I did connect it, and after a couple more years, I disconnected it again. 

Right now, I'm looking to connect it again, but I'm unable to. I tried on my phone as well as my laptop, but I get the same results. I use the 'connect to facebook' option, it asks for my email and password, I enter it, but nothing changes. If I close the Windows app, once I open it back up, I have the 'connect to facebook' option as if I hadn't tried to connect it before.

I saw that, if you had an account linked to facebook, you could try logging in with facebook directly. However, when I do this, it logs directly into my account, but my name doesn't change, and my friends can't see me - nor I can see them.

I also tried with an alternative facebook account, but again, nothing happens. I tried disconnecting it directly from facebook as well, and I've reinstalled both apps too.

Has anyone had this issue, and were you able to fix it?

thanks for reaching out about this !

As you've made quiet a few changes within the account, logging in, out and again, it's important to try and have them connected properly.

If the process you're describing of choosing to connect through Facebook allows you to log in and view the account it means it recognizes your Facebook account.

What you should try and do is to visit your account overview page (once logged in), scroll down to find the "Privacy" tab of the left menu and turn on "Process my Facebook data" (if it's on, turn off and back on).

However, if while trying to log in you receive any error message, please share the error number or a screenshot.
