Two devices

Two devices

Hello, I just recently purchased spotify premium and my best friend uses my premium account as well. I've noticed that because I'm the primary holder whenever I go on my spotify app on my phone it will say "Brittany's IPhone is now in use" or something along those lines and I am able to see or even hear what she is listening to.

I then can click "Brittany's IPhone" in green that is located down the bottom and it will say that I can control all my devices and it will say "Nicole's iPhone (2)" and "Brittany's iPhone"

I guess my question is 1) what do those mentioned above statements mean? And 2) is there a way for me and her to listen to our music separately at the same time?

I'm paying for it but I feel bad taking it away from her so if you can fix my issue that would be amazing! Thank you and please reply asap!!!!

Hi @Nicolehart1997, the different options you are talking about are from what I believe part of Spotify Connect. That way you can, for instance, control what you are listening to on your PC with your phone. So, in your case, Spotify thinks you have multiple devices so you can control what 'you' are listening to on the other device via the one you are currently using.

In short, with just one premium account its not possible to listen to separate songs when you and your friend are logged in. However, there is a feature available that keeps everything seperate. You can find more info about it on this page.
