Unable to Permanently Cancel my Free Account

Unable to Permanently Cancel my Free Account

 

Hi I have a free account, and I am unable to cancel it. I originally created it through Facebook, so after reading the help article on how to do this, I started to go through the process, when on step 4/5 it said I needed to respond to a "verification email". I never got this verification email and the process isn't moving forward.

 

Here is where I went through the process:

I went to "account"->"close my account permanently", and I NEVER receive the verification email and I don't know what to do.

 

PLEASE HELP!

Hello there!

 

Thanks for reaching out. I'll try to help you clear things up. You should be able to close your account by following the steps in this Support article. If, once you reach the verification email step, you still don't get an email, make sure to check your junk/trash folders as well.

Can you make sure you are checking the correct e-mail. You may have created your account with another e-mail address. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks Jose, but that does't solve the problem, the said email never reached my junk/trash folders either, and I've tried and checked multiple times. I originally created the account with Facebook, so it is linked to the email linked with my Facebook..

Hey Mantisentil, 

 

Unfortunately I am using the correct email, it is the same email linked to my Facebook, since I created the account with my FB, plus I can see that it is the correct email under my account settings. I am still not getting the verification email to my correct email and have checked my spam folder :/.

Hello @espencermusic! Thanks for your reply.

 

For this particular case, I would encourage you to reach out to support through the anonymous contact form. So long as you are entirely logged out of Spotify.com (alternatively, you can access the form through an incognito window/private browsing) the form will allow you to use an email of your choosing for correspondence. If you would prefer to not use the contact form, or require an alternative means of contact, you can always reach out to @SpotifyCares on twitter, or the Spotify Cares Facebook page.
