Username & password do not work on mobile devices

I have a username/password for Spotify. I do not login with FB.

 

I reset my password now I can't log in from a mobile device. I can, however, login from my PC.

 

I removed the app from my phone and tablet then reinstalled. I Still get the invalid username password message. I reset the password a few times.

 

There are hundreds of users with this same problem. One solution seems to have the Spotify Support team issue a new password. Well that's no solution. I want my own password.

 

Right not Spotify is taking up space without benefit.

 

Does someone have a simple solution for this ongoing problem?

This is what worked for me:

From the desktop (where you can log in), go to your profile.

Take the entry under Username and use this in the mobile app with your existing password.

Note that the username may be different from the email you use to log in via your computer browser.

So in the browser it'll ask for your email address to log in. From the mobile app - you have to use your username, not your email address.

 

Sounds like a bug to me. Spotify QA should catch this and get it fixed.

So this has happened to me as well, don't like FB so don't use it, I just signed up for premium as well. Can't sign into the spotify app on my mac book nor on my iphone....

Me too 😞 why no answers?

This is happening to me across all devices... I cant even acces my music, I would love a password from the support team that would work 😞

You should contact customer support through this link:

They'll help you out. They take, at the most, 24 hrs to get back to you.

Don't forget to check your spam folder for responses as they may end up there.

 

If you get an automated email directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to support@spotify.com and one of the customer services agents will get back to you.

Hi there, I contacted all of their support methods (fb,twitter and by email) and none of them have gotten back to me in over 12 hours. This has been very frustrating to go all day without my music as a music lover.

If I log in via my fb, it'll redirect to the browser and tell me that the page wont load because it redirects me too many times.

Be sure to double check your email address in your profile page.

Don't forget to check your spam folder for responses as they may end up there.

 

Did you use the online form or messaged them directly? Send your message to support@spotify.com and one of the customer services agents will get back to you.

 

You can login to the desktop app using your Facebook email (the one that gets all your notifications) and Facebook password. It may work on mobile.

 

The problem is that Facebook's login system is very unreliable at times.

My suggestion would be for you to create a new account with a different email address from the one you use for Facebook. That will give you a Spotify username of your choice, so you won't have to rely on Facebook anymore.

 

Once you have this new account, and since you're already contacting customer support, you could tell them to help you migrate your Premium privileges (if you have them), library, playlists, friends, etc. to this new account. No more Facebook problems.

I can't even access the profile page. My email associated to the forums side of spotify is not my facebook account email. It is another email that I use. I just logged in to reply to this and it would not let me log in via my username and password, it would tell me that something went wrong and that I should try again. After trying multiple other times and other possible usernames, I hit the log in through facebook button and it logged me in so I could reply.

 

I used both the online form and their email address to contact them. I have been checking my spam folders and email on both my email accounts. (the one connected to facebook and the one connected to spotify).

 

I have not been able to log in anywhere with my facebook email and password on the spotify app, dekstop app or on the website. (besides right now when the button worked, however my account still doesn't work anywhere else besides this support site.) The desktop app will open up a webpage and process my facebook login and it will say it was successful. However, once I go back to the desktop app it says the username and password is incorrect..

 

I would like to know what would happen if I detach my facebook account from my spotify account. Would I lose access to it completely? Would my account get deleted?

 

I have a prepaid 1 year subscription, so I would really rather not create a new spotify account. I do not have another email address to create another spotify account with either. My two email addresses are somehow linked to this account.

Do you use Twitter? Try getting in touch with them by tweeting them --> @SpotifyCare

 

Another way to contact them is using this alternative form:

Make sure you are logged out of any Spotify account when using the contact form or the username and email field will not show up. It is important so that you can enter the information of the account you are having trouble with. If you are logged in with a different account that is not having the problem, that account info will be used and support will be confused.
