My Question or Issue
Since a few weeks ago my username in Spotify appears only as numbers and letters instead of my facebook profile name. I can still listen to music and so but some features, like updates of the desktop app, are not possible anymore.
I did not deactivate my Facebook profile, I also didn't remove the rights from Facebook to Spotify (I checked) and my Spotify account was created with the Facebook account so it's also not a case of not being connected. It's not an urgent problem since I can still listen to music and so, but I'm just wondering why this is happening and also it's kinda annoying.
Does anyone have an idea?

Hey there @KimWanHee!
Welcome to our Community and thanks for reaching out to us.
You could try re-syncing your Facebook account to Spotify. You can do that with the following steps:
If you still see only the automatically generated name, could you let us know if this happens on mobile and on the web player as well?
Keep us in the loop and don't hesitate to ask if you have any other questions.
Take care!

Thanks! This worked just fine. Now I finally see my name and profile picture again!

Hello, i have a problem on my mobile Spotify app.
My account name is just letters and numbers but I can't listen to any song I can't even see my playlists. I've tried every single solution that you gave but still nothing. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, i logged off and sighed on again I even created a new account but i had the same issue. Please can you help me?
Hey @Eleni_papadopoulou,
Thanks for posting in the Community.
It is possible, that you have two accounts and are logged in on the wrong one. Could you give those steps a go to find out if that's the case?
For a long time now the usernames of newly created accounts are a random sequence of letters and numbers. This is due to security reasons. But you can create a separate display name on your account. More on that here.
Keep us posted,
Cheers!
Hi Dian,
I'm having the same problem described above. I login with email, not with Facebook. Anyway, I've tried your suggested action (remove Spotify from my Facebook sites which showed as expired) and when going back to try logging in, the weird number keeps appearing as my username, a non-premium account without my playlists or anything. I'm paying premium but not able to log in to my account, so please have this issue fixed asap.
This happens in my Windows 10 laptop. Funnily, my mobile app keeps working OK.
Cheers

Hey @user-removed,
Please doublecheck the email with which you're currently logged in by opening your Settings page on the mobile app.
Try logging in by using the same email on the desktop app.
If this doesn't do the trick, we'd advise taking a look if logging in with Facebook / Google changes anything.
Let us know how it goes! We'll take a further look if the issue persists 🙂
Cheers!
