Hey Andy,
Welcome to the community and I hope your studies are going well in Chile 🙂
If you’re leaving the country temporarily, you can take Spotify with you. However, for licensing reasons, the amount of time you can be out of the country before Spotify needs to know varies depending on if you’re Free or Premium.
Free subscribers can use Spotify in a different country for up to 14 days. If you’re abroad for more than 14 days, you need to upgrade to Premium or change your country settings to continue enjoying your music (see steps below).
- Log in to your Account page.
- Click EDIT PROFILE.
- Scroll down to Country and select your new country from the dropdown list.
Note: Only the country of your current location will be displayed.
- Click SAVE PROFILE.
Note: Availability of music differs between countries.
Premium subscribers can use Spotify anywhere in the world for as long as they like.
However, for licencing reasons, you need to update your account if you move to another country:
- Log in to your Account page.
- Select Subscription in the menu on the left.
- Click UPDATE DETAILS.
- Click ‘…’ for more options.

- Click Change Country and select the country you wish to move the account to.
- Select a payment method issued in the new country.
- Confirm the change by clicking CHANGE PAYMENT DETAILS.
The new payment method and country settings will be in effect from your next payment date.
Note: Availability of music differs between countries.
I hope this helps 🙂
Carl
