Wrong Facebook attached to my account

So you've logged in with your Spotify username only to see your friend's Facebook picture and name in the top right hand corner. Now your listening history is on your friend's Facebook--what to do?

Not to worry. This can be fixed in a matter of seconds. 

Head over to your Preferences Page within your desktop app: Edit > Preferences (in Windows) or Spotify > Preferences (in Mac)

From there select 'Disconnect from Facebook' under 'Social Network'. You'll know it's disconnected when the button changes to 'Connect to Facebook'. 

If you'd like, you can then link to your own FB. That way this error can't happen again in the future 🙂

My account gnome*gnome has Bob Smith linked via Facebook and it's the wrong account.  I've treied loggin in with my FB account and it puts my pofile picture on his profile!  PLease could you delete Bob Smith's FB connection.!  Driving me mad!

@danielovich - if you explain that to our support team via email, they'll be able to help out.

@gnomehome - your gnome*gnome account currently isn't connected to any Facebook account. If it's still showing a Facebook link, it should disappear automatically within 24 hours. You're always free to connect/disconnect that account to Facebook from your Preferences.

I have the same problem but when I unlink the two and relink them the same friends Facebook picture and Facebook friends. Please help the username is j.lidrbauch and it is a premium account!

Hi Jlidrbauch - I've just disconnected that profile from your account. Please try connecting to Facebook again via your Preferences page. Edit > Preferences (in Windows) or Spotify > Preferences (in Mac)

It's still ATTACHED AND HE'S EVEN DELETED HIS WHOLE FACEBOOK ACCOUNT!   AAHHHHH

I am having the same problem. I have reinstalled Spotify, changed passwords on FB, deleted cookies & Cache. Also disconnected from FB within Spotify, and all this again and again in different orders. Whatever I do my account links to Ranjit Singh; are you able to delete Ranjit Singh at your end so as the next time I log in with Facebook it links to MY FB account please? It's driving me nuts many thanks for your help, cheers CW

When did you disconnect Ranjit's Facebook? At our end your account should be back to normal; it looks like it just hasn't updated inside Spotify itself yet.

Okay I will; have have wasted three hours on this so hope it can be rectified

For your information (and records, should it be the same in a couple of days ) this was the process I have just gone through yet again:

Have just attempted this again since you said all seems good your end

Uninstall Spotify

Clear cache and cookies

Browse to Spotify log in

Log in via Facebook

ciaranwilkins with my photo shown

Click get Spotify

Save file

Run download/set up

Attempt log in with Facebook details (Ciaran@XXXthebigpXXXX.co.uk)

Message: Log in failed username or password is incorrect

Second attempt same message

Log in with Spotify details (ciaranwilkins)

Successful log in.

Name at top in right hand corner still shows ‘Ranjit Singh’ but with my photo from my Facebook account

Go figure

I have my friends face and name in the right corner. I have gone to prefrence page and diconnect and connect again, doesn´t help. I also reinstalled spotify, didnt work either.

What to do?

ciaranwilkins - How does that look for you today? If you're still having trouble please do a quick sign out/ sign in. 

If you're still seeing the wrong username could you post a screenshot for us? Or send one over in an email? 

raser_musen - Sometimes this change takes a bit to appear. I can confirm you no longer have a Facebook account linked to your Spotify. 

Try restarting the app--you should that change here soon.

Still no change I am afraid!

I closed down Spotify and restarted; then in preferences disconnected form Facebook.

Then of course re-connected with my FB log-in details.

Alas same problem.

So my account is connected to my girlfriends facebook, i've tried dissconnect from facebook via preferences -  log out and log back in with my user acc i still have her name in the top right corner.

I've tried connecting to facebook via that button to my facebook account but the only thing that changed was the small picturem, still the wrong name.

Hey drakir1 - Those changes can take some time to show up. However right now your account isn't linked to a Facebook account at all. 

Do you still see the 'Connect to Facebook' option in your Preferences page?

When I log in with my credentials, someone elses name, picture, playlists, etc comes up. Mine is all gone!!!!! Under preferences, it says "connect to facebook", so that isn't the issue (I don't even have a facebook account, so couldn't connect to it even if I want to). I've uninstalled/reinstalled and am still having the issue. Same issue on my PC (Windows 7), and iphone app. HELP!!!!
