Hi Spotify, 

 

I dont think I need to explain this issue too much as from the searches I've carried out, this is obviously an ongoing issue. 

 

My wife logged into my account on her phone and her facebook seemed to link to my account. 

 

Now, her name (Lex Marmash) seems to be engrained into my account as all of the suggestions Ive found in the forums ... dont work. 

 

So, before you suggest any of them ...

 

Ive tried to unlink the facebook account, but (on my laptop) in the preferences it says theres no account linked (so thats not an option). To try to force it to link to my account instead, I tried to link it to my facebook, but everytime I try, it brings me back to the "connect to facbook" button on the preferences page ... without actually ever connecting. Frustrating. 

 

I have uninstalled the program (on my PC), restarted it, and logged in again, still no joy ... I still seem to be "Lex Marmash" ... when it should be "laithmarmash". 

 

Ive tried linking my account on my phone as well ... still no joy .

 

Oh ... and Ive waited well over 48 hours for your cache to refresh ... nada.

 

Please remove the link to my wifes facebook from my account.

Hey there @laithmarmash and welcome to the community!

Have you tried removing the Spotify app from your wife's Facebook account (https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=applications or Settings > Apps > Show all apps ) ? After you've done so, try logging out and back into your Spotify account and then see if you can now link your own FB account.

Hi Kate, I have tried everything, numerous times (disconnected spotify from the facebook phone apps, from the desktop apps, refreshed them, waited 24 hours before each bit, tried reconnecting to my own account). No joy, and its becoming increasingly frustrating. 

 

Could you please manually purge/disconnect my wifes facbook account from my account. I'd rather not have to try anything from my end as nothing seems to work.

In your case, it'd be best to get in touch with a member of the Spotify staff directly so that they can take a look under the hood for you.

You can drop them a line on social media (Twitter or Facebook) or by using the contact form. Make sure, if you use the latter, to reply to the automated email you'll receive directing you back to the help pages, even if it's from a no-reply!

 

Support usually gets back within a day or two.
