how do I cancel my account?

how do I cancel my account?

I emailed support and was referee to this community. My account shows I am on free however I am being charge $9.99/month. I signed up months ago but have actually never used the service. Just want to cancel account.

Hey @ammoore07!

 

It seems you need to track the payments you're being billed. You can send your Spotify account info (like its username and/or email address) via the Contact form and the Support team should be able to tell if the cancellation went through or not. 

 

You can also access your Account Subscription page to see if you're still on Premium.

It seems you might another account that was upgraded to Premium. To be sure, just fill out the Contact form with any other email addresses or usernames you may have used to make an account (even if you don't think you used them for Spotify).

 

The Support team will be glad to hunt down where that charge went and refund it, if applicable.

 

I'm not exactly sure where I'm suppose to go when I click on the contact form link. Do I need to contact my bank and make a claim against all the monthly charges I've been getting? I don't understand why I'm having such a hard time with this. Is there a phone number I can call to speak to a person?

It's best if you can send clues like any other email addresses or usernames you may have used to create an account (even if it's not with Spotify) via the Contact Form. For security reasons, it's not advisable to post any email addresses here as they're viewed publicly.

 

Just select the following:

  • Category: Subscription
  • Topic: Canceled my subscription but was still charged
  • Then click I still need help
  • You'll be asked to enter details that can help track where those charges are coming from.
  • Then click on Send Question.

 

The Support team will take it from there and will let you know what they find out. They'll also be able to stop further payments from taking place.
