paypal payment

Hi!

I tried to buy a premium membership for spotify. I wanted to pay with a giftcard, but that option is unavailable. So I added 25 euro to my paypal account. 

The free trial is 0,00 euro but I want membership anyway so I don't care that there is money on my paypal account. 

The problem is that even when I try to "pay 0,00 euro" with my paypal account, It says :

I've had contact with paypal about this and they said that I should:

• Clear your cache and cookies or try a different web browser
• Attempt to make the payment from a different card
• Attempt to make the payment at a different time
• Ensure that you are making your payment from your country of residence. If possible attempt to complete the payment from your home computer or the computer you most frequently use to access your PayPal account.

I did all this and still get the message.

Does anyone know what I should do?

To pay for Spotify using PayPal, your PayPal account needs to be linked to a valid credit or debit card and be verified. You can't use PayPal which is purely connected to your bank account I'm afraid.

That is weird, because I know someone that doesn't have a credit/debit card. He uses Paypal to pay for spotify.

Isn't that the whole idea of having Paypal? Sending them money so they can pay for your things on the internet safely.

 Also didn't found my answer in the FAQ

It is something that has been brought up many times with Spotify, but the answer we get back is always PayPal requires a credit/debit card as Spotify use the card information to verify your country.

Some people do seem to be able to set up subscriptions via PayPal without those details, however we have found on the community it works for a short period then stops normally.
