"Prepaid code is not valid in this country" - "Il codice prepagato non è valido in questo paese"

Hi everyone! I received a subscription to Spotify Premium but when I try to redeem it an error message occurs, saying that prepaid code is not valid in this country (actually since I'm in Italy it pops out in Italian but I think it translated like that). Since the persone who sent me the gift is in UK while I'm in Italy, could that be a problem? How can I solve it? Thanks!

Ho ricevuto in regalo l'abbonamento a Spotify Premium ma quando cerco di aggiornarlo inserendo il codice ricevuto spunta fuori il seguente messaggio di errore: "Il codice prepagato non è valido in questo paese". Dal momento che la persona che mi ha regalato l'abbonamento si connette dal Regno Unito e io sono in Italia può essere questo il problema? Come posso risolverlo? Grazie!

Yes. You need to change your country in profile to UK, and once you use the prepaid code, it will stay as UK until the subscription ends.

Since you're in a different country, you need a VPN to get a English IP address to change countries in your profile page.
