First of all this might be posted in the wrong section but I don't know where should it belong to so sorry.
http://www.theverge.com/2012/11/15/3649068/spotify-browser-player-web-app
I just read this article on The Verge saying that a browser based Spotify player is being rolled-out today. I really hope this is true! If this is the case how do we sign up for it? I've been dying to use Spotify on my uni's computer clusters!

I am on Spotify Premium but why does it still prompts me to disable adblock?
Do you get any ads ?
I do get that too. Premium member and it always shows shortly at beginning - but no ads. (Firefox + Adblock)
Sorry. I misunderstood. I'm guessing that ad-block may block out images that are actually intended to be part of the interface.
Nope but it still prompts me to, which is kind of annoying. But since it's still on beta I'll give Spotify some leeway.
The "Get Spotify on your iPhone" banner could be scrapped IMO to give space for drag and drop queueing! My 2 cents 🙂
"You can't login, if you have special characters (like &) in your password."
This issue should now be resolved, thanks for the report.
As for the popup asking you to disable adblock, this is simply because during internal testing we found that adblock could block legitimate (non advertising related) files from being loaded, if e.g. the pathname to the file contained the letters "ad" beside each other. You won't be getting ads as a premium subscriber so it's safe to add play.spotify.com to the whitelist of sites in adblock, which will make this message disappear.
Dan
I get the disable adblock message as well. *I am using an ad block. Are we supposed to be seeing ads on the web version even if we are premium subscribers?
As I said above, I think that there are elements of the interface that could be mistaken as ads by ad blockers. This is why it's recommended to disable them.
could someone make a chrome extension that converts spotify links into web-browser-compatible links? 🙂
It's just a case of renaming the link.. quite easy to do manually, but would be nice to have done automatically 😉
also, how can i add albums to a playlist? If I find something I like.. I don't see a way of boomarking it?? I know this is BETA - but would make things much easier! 😉
Here are my thoughts and feedback regarding Spotify Web.
- I have no complaints as far as it being SLOW! I am running MAC OS X (Mountain Lion.)
I would like to be able to select one track and after that track it stops. Like in the Desktop Client I would right click on a song and be able to choose "Queue" and then Play from the player.
The Radio is still annoying as the Desktop Client and hope you guys really do spend time on this (at least at some point.)
Otherwise it looks good. Keep up the good work.
Chrome browser/Windows, so far so good...
Can't wait for Scrobbling, etc.
Have been waiting for this web version for awhile, so glad I can at least use the Beta...thanks!
I have also noticed the following...
Still streams great quality audio with no lag, speed issues...
Hi Matt
You should be able to star a track by clicking the [...] icon either inside the player module in a track list. As for the manual refresh for playlists - this shouldn't be the case. There should be another update relatively soon which should hopefully resolve this.
Cheers!
Dan
Great, thanks for the update...
Hi Dan, any update on adding albums to a playlist? It's would be great for music discovery... Wouldn't really need the desktop app then... Thnx
I also do not see where you can "unlike" a song...just curious...
My "Like from Radio" list published itself today and I can't get it off! I have auto-publish turned off on my computer, but I was using the web player on my work computer today and I liked a song from the radio and it published the playlist. I don't see any way in the web player to unpublish or turn off auto-publishing.
I tried using Spotify on WIndows to publish and unpublish the playlyst, but it made no difference to the access.
Hi Ed
Unfortunately I don't have a good answer for this right now, but definitely watch this space. Did you see the youtube video where ideas relevant to this were outlined? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHnrbEYxpRE.
Dan
You should be able to delete a song from your "liked from radio" playlist, or unstar a track that you had previously starred. Is this what you meant?
