Hey my sister uses my account which I'm more than happy for her to do as she's a student, but we both cannot listen at the same time. If I try to put a song on it stops her music and vice versa. Is there an easy way to fix this and I'm just being stupid?

I had the same question and found the answer in a specific Q&A.  The text from that Q&A is copied below.   Basically, you both need to have a subscription if you are both going to be using it at the same time.

Spotify account is being used somewhere else warning

Spotify is licensed for personal use and can only be played from one device at a time. Check you’re not playing Spotify anywhere else, then click play to resume.

If you’ve left your account logged in somewhere, follow these steps to change your password.

Hey guys welcome to the community 🙂

As @BigDaddy mentioned, this is normal. To play spotify at the same time on both devices you will need 2 subscriptions.

This is because spotify is licensed for personal use, which means it is in theoretical even disallowed to play spotify in a public area like in a store.
