spotify won't accept any credit card

I'm trying to subscribe to a student account and Spotify will not accept either of my cards. I just used my cards fine at the store. It's only with Spotify. I do have an automatic monthly subscription to something else so I know my card is not the issue (it also worked for Pandora). . I live in the US. I cannot get t the PayPal option on any screen I'm on. What do I do? I wish I could take care of this over the phone.
