Whenever I try to log in to get the student discount I log in but instead of redirecting me to the correct page it just redirects me to my profile overview and says "oops something went wrong, please try again." It has been saying this for the past two days now and Im back on the free spotify so its not that, I have also tried doing the same process on different browsers and even in incognito. Nothing seems to be working.

If you receive an automated email that leads you back to the community or help pages, reply to it (even if it's from "no-reply") and one of the Spotify team members will get back to you as soon as possible.

I already did that and they told me to try it in different browsers. which didnt work 😕
Are you using a proxy server / VPN? And are you in the same country as stated in your settings?
as far as I know Im not on any proxy. I mean Im on my college internet. And yes Im in the US as it says in my settings.
Yeah mine is doing the same thing, minus the error message. Instead of directing me to a page to verify my student status, it just takes me to my profile settings page. I tried the same thing on mobile as well as two different browsers and incognito mode and I get the same result each time.

Just so you guys know, I got an email giving me the link to the manual thing and it said I was eligible for the discount so I clicked continue after that and I was redirected to my profile overview with the same exact message again. *sigh*
I had the same problem going on recently, I have been in correspondence with Customer Service ("CS") however they have been not much help as of yet. This has been a 2 week process that could easily be solved in a 5 minute phone call, though they have not responded to my messages as of late.
The first step CS directed me to was their own 7 step process for obtaining the discount via the Spotify system, though that did not work. So they directed me to a 3rd party
The next step they directed me to a company called SheerID, who I e-mailed and was provided a direct link to do it through their site. I was then verified and directed back to Spotify website to "access my offer," when it took me back to subscriptions page, it still maintained my $9.99 monthly fee. I had many e-mails with Spotify CS since this.
Spotify responded with " I'm sorry for the hassle but this is quite easy to fix. I just need to remove your discount and cancel the subscription and you should now be able to add it again without any further problems."
So now that I have been moved to a free account, I contacted SheerID customer service again to see if they can re-verify my student status, and go from a Free account to a student account, rahter than from a Premium account to a Student Account.
I think the issue here lies with Spotify not being able to downgrade premium subscribers to student subscribers.
well I was on the trial and now Im paying full price for this month. I tried to use the student discount when I was on spotify free and I was still running into problems. Were you able to get refunded for the month you paid full for?
I'm having the same issue. currently exchanging emails with support about it. I'm also supposed to be compensated another month for being charged full price, but it hasn't shown up yet, so I included that in my most recent email. will post back here if I get a solution for you
I received my 1-month compensation for being charged regular price.
also, a different csr told me Spotify is having an update to payment servers, and suggested I try again closer to the end of my current subscription.
