user name catch 22

user name catch 22

my daughter has been loged out of her Spotify account.

She types in her username (an email address) and password.

Spoify doesn't recognise the password. So she tries to reset it.

On the reset page she types in her username (her email address) and Spotify says that there is NO account with that email address.

She tries to make a new account using the email address, and now Spotify says there is ALREADY an account with that user name.

 

How can we get past this circular problem?
