After disconnect from Android Auto, media volume is at max

My Question or Issue

I just moved to Spotify from YTM and when I disconnect my Note 10 from Android Auto, it leaves my media volume at max and even continues playing the song for a second or two. So every time I get out of my car and unplug my phone, it screams at me for 2 seconds before the song stops playing, but then I've still got max volume set so when I scroll by a reddit ad, it starts yelling at me at full tilt boogie. Anyone else seeing this?

Just to confirm, did you make sure that the media volume wasn't at max before you disconnect your phone from Android Auto?

Also, try logging out, restarting your phone, and logging back in before you connect it to your car again. Is there any difference?

8.5.98.984 is the version.

I always keep my media volume at 0. With every other streaming app, when
you plug directly into the car to use AA, the volume is set to 100, then
when you disconnect it goes back to whatever it was before. So when I used
YouTube Music, the phone was plugged in at 0, then when I unplugged it, it
went back to 0. With Spotify, it's plugged in at 0, goes to 100 then stays
there even after I disconnect.

Did you try logging out, restarting your device, and logging back in?

If that didn't help, try running a clean reinstall of the app by following these steps. This can be helpful to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble.

Also, check on your device's settings for any option that might be causing this behavior.

Yes. I'm actually up to 4 clean reinstalls now. As you can see in the videos, not only does it still play music and leave the volume at 100 after disconnecting, but it won't load my liked songs in Android Auto. It loads fine in the app though. 

Just to double check, I uninstalled Spotify and tried the same with YouTube Music, and it has none of these issues. Volume is at zero after disconnecting from Android Auto while using YouTube music. I've used Tidal, Google Play Music, Amazon Music and Spotify, and only Spotify does this.

Thanks for getting back to us.

Could you let us know if disabling Normalize Volume in the app setting makes a difference? It's also a good idea to check for any firmware updates for your car's infotainment system.

It was a "bad cache" on Spotify's end that support had to fix.
