My Question or Issue

Problem is identical on my wife and my Samsung S21s.   We both sleep with earbuds playing something quietly.  After awakening, closing Spotify, and confirming there is no session on the notifications screen, we will put the sleep earbuds into their case.  Often, this will somehow re-awaken the beast, and Spotify will resume playing the last session, often at very loud volume through the phone speakers, awakening the other.   Similarly, often when I get too near my vehicle with Uconnect, Spotify will awaken and begin playing a session to those speakers.   I believed the problem would be addressed by finding some settings to disable autoconnect, or disable any ability to run in the background, or to "hide player when session ended", but have been unable to locate the settings on the phone or within Spotify to ensure that when I close it, it will NOT restart until I specifically ask it to.   Again, it happens on both of our phones, on numerous sets of earbuds, and to our vehicle.   We do have a shared Spotify premium account, if the setting is there somehow.   Surely this can't be so difficult.  What do I need to do?

Hey @mcv1, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

I am sorry to hear this and I want to thank you for sharing your feedback. It sounds like the playback of the music is changed back to the device connected to your phone via Bluetooth, which is expected at this point. If there is an issue with the sound and how it’s played when Spotify connects to those devices - it would be something to look at for those specific devices and its sound settings. You can also try repairing to see if that helps with sound inconsistencies.

I’d also recommend leaving a +Vote on this idea if you'd like to see this changed (the ability to turn on automatic switching).

Hope this helps!
