Android 8.0 (Oreo) - No controls on lockscreen

I just got my Mi A1 (Android one - stock Android) and it's running on the latest version of Android 8.0 (Oreo). However, Spotify controls won't show on lockscreen and this is really annoying...unlocking my phone every time I want to skip a song.

When playing music on Google Play Music, the controls will appear on lockscreen, but they don't with Spotify. I've tried every kind of notifications setup, but can't make it work.

Any suggestions, please?

My Google pixel 2 running on the latest android Oreo has the same problem!!! Tried so much and nothing works to fix it!!!

Go settings / lock and security / facewidget... switch control for music on

all done..
