My Question or Issue
Hi Guys
I am having trouble with the pictures displayed in my truck, not matching what is on the screen of my phone, or sometimes not being displayed at all. I have read other threads where the data is not being sent to the head unit of the vehicle. This is not the case, most of the time.
What is happening is that sometimes (and very rarely, but it does happen), the picture displayed on the head unit matches the picture on the screen of my phone. The picture on the screen of my phone is always the album cover art. The picture on the screen of the head unit is sometimes the album cover art, sometimes not the correct album cover art, sometimes a generic picture given to a general category of music (ie. Alternative, Urban, Roots, etc) and sometimes a picture of the artist.
I am wondering where this information comes from, and why spotify doesn't tag each song's picture with the album it came from on both the screen of the device, and the screen of what it is sending data to. So basically you would have the picture for the song, and then a smaller, lower res (maybe?) version of the same picture to be sent to the device. Clearly, a decision has been made to send a picture, and some decision was made of what picture to send. Why are there different pictures?
Is there a way to access this data? Is there a bot that can be programmed to go through all the track metadata and reassign the correct picture to each track either on the Spotify end, or the user end? Could the community take care of this as a group? Is this something that, when submitting tracks to Spotify, the individual artist has control of?
But most importantly: Is there a way I can fix this? 🙂
Thanks,
Bryan
