Android TV cast to device starts random iteration then stops after 9 seconds

My Question or Issue

Hello. When I start the Mi Box S and Spotify is not running and I start to play music on my phone Spotify sees that my Mi Box S is available as a device. When I select it, Spotify opens on Mi Box, it jumps to the song I was playing on my phone, but then it randomly starts to iterate over other songs. After a second it stops at one of the songs (not the one I was playing on my phone) and starts playing it, but after exactly 9 seconds, the play just stops. If I manually open Spotify on Mi Box S before selecting it as a device, everything seems to be working. Has anyone come across this issue?

Same problem here. 

The playback fails if the Mi box S is used as a Chromecast. 

Opening the Spotify app on the Android TV box enables the Spotify connect function which works fine, but takes more effort. 

Both options should be working. Casting to a Chromecast on a different setup works fine for me. So the problem exists when the Cast function of Spotify is combined with Cast function of the Xiaomi Mi box S.
