Android closing Spotify in background

Hi all

The last few versions of Spotify have not allowed me to leave the app in the background without it just closing the app mid song! No I don't have any task killers. My developer settings are set to not kill background apps. No memory optimisation on either. My android phone having the exact same issue. Android 5 and 6 (tablet and phone), both Spotify version 7.5.0.1076. 

I've tried re installing , cache cleaning etc

Any ideas please? Or is this just a bug in the current version plus I tried two versions back same thing
