The last couple of weeks i got this weird problem, when inside my library my scroll buttons up and down are almost not visible.
Normaly the 2 up and down scroll symbols arw bright white, now they look almost greyed out.
And if i press them they react real slow. After a couple of seconds it reacts to my touch on the car stereo.
I tried 3 phones, and they all act the same and on last Spotify version. I have Pioneer 2din dab radio, it never failed me for 2 years now. But something changed with the last update from Spotify.
When i disconnnect the phone Galaxy s23 ultra and hook it back up trough usb/android auto. The 2 symbols are bright white again, i select a song and press back to my library BOOM! The buttons are broke again. So the scroll bar and buttons are completly broken for me somehow. I did a factory reset on my car stereo no help, same problem.
Anyone else with this issue?? You can see it in the pictures.
On the left side the 2 arrow buttons are bright white on first picture.
After that they are greyed out and unresponsive. At times they are completly gone for me.
Hello @Silverhaze-NL,
Thanks for posting in the Community and for the provided details and screenshots.
On one of the screenshots it appears that Spotify is offline. Could you let us know if the control buttons are greyed out if you've disabled Offline mode? What about the behavior with a different internet connection?
Since this is happening with 3 phones connected to your Android Auto and you've gone over a factory reset on your car stereo, could you also reinstall Spotify in your car in case this makes any difference?
If you've tested with 3 devices and you were logged in to your Spotify account when the issue occurs, you could ask a relative or a friend to test from their account and device and let us know what happens?
Appreciate the cooperation and keep us posted.
Hi! Thanks for the fast response.
I just asked a college from work to test it out with her Xiaomi Redmi Note 13.
Same issue there, see screenshots.
I did the factory reset yesterday on my car stereo, so all apps were deleted then.
A fresh start.
With all other apps the 2 scroll buttons are bright white and active.
Tried Tidal and Qobuz just for the fun of it to see if they act the same way.
Just to see if the problem was not the car stereo, and as far as i can see it is not.
Spotify always worked like a charm. It is so weird, can't pinpoint it what the problem coulde be.
Maby a UI change. As you can see in the pictures, the 2 symbols are almost not noticable.
The rest of the UI has no problem at all and works perfectly.

My Question or Issue
When using Android Auto, I've been having issues with the navigation arrows. They are either completely gone, barely visible, or will randomly appear after poking around at different screens within Spotify. After they become visible, they seem to stay on until the head unit has been rebooted, then they're missing again.
I was having other weird issues with Spotify and Android Auto but those issues have been resolved by completely uninstalling Spotify from my phone, then reinstalling Spotify. The Navigation Arrow issue has persisted and I've seen a few other posts about this as well.
Hi there @teknix420,
Thanks for reaching out and flagging this!
This was reported a while ago in this thread and was forwarded to our tech team. A fix was implemented, but since you mentioned this started happening again, we've now let them know so they can have a closer look and investigate this further.
The Community is always here in case anything else pops up.
Hi @teknix420,
It's been a while, hope you are doing well 🙂
We've been informed that a new fix has been deployed for this. Please ensure everything is on the latest version and test it out . Let us know if everything is working properly again.
Keep us posted.
Joan,
I've updated Spotify and it looks like the UI on Android Auto has been completely overhauled. The navigation arrows were there and functional for a few days, but they have disappeared again. I tried uninstalling Spotify from my device, clearing out the data, and then reinstalling it, but that didn't help at all.
I noticed the two navigation arrows next to the Home button are gone - could you please please please bring them back? It's honestly so frustrating not being able to go back a page when I'm deep into playlists or albums.
It was such a practical UX feature, so I'm not sure why it was removed. It really made navigation smoother.
