Automatic Mass Download at Startup - No Pause/Stop Option?

I originally loved being able to download anything I starred for offline listening, then I realized after I spend more time with Spotify on my desktop, every time I use it on my phone it nearly cripples my phone because it wants to download all 40+ songs right away, and by the time it's done I forget what I was going to use it for in the first place.

There is no pause/stop download option (at least an accessible one) at this stage -- shouldn't there be?  All I can think to do is disable downloading (when it lets me in) but that shouldn't be the way. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it.

There's really not another way to prevent music from downloading than to disable offline mode for that playlist. I would recommend giving kudos/comments on this topic.
